Working Groups

The team is separated into the following sub teams:

Awareness team

The Awareness team is dedicated to fostering awareness among students and employees regarding gender and diversity issues. They serve as a potential point of contact for individuals who have witnessed or experienced discrimination, inequality, or sexism. Presently, their projects focus on implementing a tool within the department that enables individuals to anonymously report such incidents. Additionally, they are planning a survey to gauge the overall sentiments and attitudes toward these topics within the department.

Event team

The Event team is responsible for meticulously planning and executing both past and forthcoming events, which encompass regular round tables as well as the DIPHER24 conference. These events serve as crucial platforms for fostering discussions, sharing insights, and advancing our mission. For a comprehensive list of past and upcoming events, please visit here.

Flyer team

The Flyer team is responsible for creating and updating a flyer that succinctly presents our team’s mission, activities, and upcoming events. This flyer serves as a comprehensive overview of our work, ensuring that all essential information is readily visible at first glance. It will be strategically placed in various locations throughout the department to raise awareness about our initiatives. By prominently featuring our contact information, the flyer also serves to reassure students and employees that they have access to dedicated individuals should they need assistance or wish to get involved.

Website & Social Media Team

We maintain and construct the Phydine website and our social media account. On this website, you can access all important information about our work and learn about past and upcoming events we organize. Additionally, we aim to raise awareness through this website and encourage individuals to participate in our events or even join our team.

As social media team for PHYDINE, we – Anabel, Eileen, and Melissa – reach out to introduce our group and our goals, and raise awareness, especially among students. Our objective is to share information on gender and diversity in physics, connect to physics students primarily at FAU but also around the world, listen to their experiences, concerns and problems and build a forum for exchanging ideas.

Our Instagram channel @phydineerlangen kicked off in December 2023 and planning on a LinkedIn account is under way for 2024. Please use the following QR code or the link.
